Adaptive
Spool Valve™
Dampers
Never out of step.
Adaptive suspension requires adaptive dampers:

Ford GT
The Ford GT was the first vehicle to feature mode selectable adaptive spool valve dampers.

The Ford GT features user-selectable ride height, spring rate and damping adjustment.

Track Mode – Lower Ride Height
In track mode, ride height is lowered to 70 mm (2.75 in) by hydraulically locking out the coil spring (red), leaving the torsion bar (green) to provide all suspension.

Nose Lift
To help clear obstacles, front ride height can be increased by hydraulically extending the coil spring (red).

Normal Mode – Normal Ride Height:
Normal ride height is 120 mm (4.7 in), and both torsion bar and coil spring provide suspension.
